Nantes demand Cardiff pay the £15m transfer fee for Emiliano Sala

According to a report by BBC Wales, Nantes have demanded receipt of the first instalment of the fee and have threatened legal action if it is not received in 10 days' time.

Sala was signed by Premier League side Cardiff City in January for a club record fee of £15million, before the Argentine striker and his pilot went missing.

The Mirror reports that Nantes sent Cardiff an email last Thursday and followed up with a legal threat on Tuesday.

A source at Cardiff told British media that the Welsh club will honour the contract but only once they have clarified "all the facts".

Per Sky Sports News, the Premier League club fell they should wait until the recovery operation in the Channel is concluded and for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) and the police to conclude their investigations before they proceed with any payment.
