The most divisive and disruptive President in the history of the United States used his State of the Union address last night to call for unity and collaboration.

President Donald Trump finally gave his 2019 State of the Union address on Tuesday evening, after his initial speech was delayed during the government shut down.

It's hard to top a sea of Democratic congresswomen in suffragette white, Melania Trump's eyebrow-raising solo-glove action or even POTUS for that matter, but Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have pulled it off.

"All children born and unborn are made in the holy image of God", Mr. Trump told the prayer breakfast.

"Together we will end the scourge of modern-day slavery, which because of the internet is at levels nobody can believe, the president added". And many have clung onto it - and, yes, meme'd it.

Trump's appointment of Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court has rallied many conservative Christians around the possibility of overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 high court decision guaranteeing USA abortion rights.

During that time, Pelosi canceled Trump's scheduled State of the Union address on January 29 because of security concerns, and polls showed Americans blamed Trump and Republicans for the shutdown more than Democrats.

Trump also thanked faith leaders for their efforts helping to pass criminal justice reform legislation, which he signed past year.

When it came time for Pelosi to answer questions, the second one she was asked was about Trump claiming that House committees conducting oversight of his administration were engaging in "presidential harassment".

Pelosi said, "Let me just say, I am not commenting on what the president has to say about our work". "We will always protect our country's long and proud tradition of faith-based adoption". "I wanted him to know that it was very welcomed".

"She was making sure he saw her applauding", said Mills.
