That made surgery a near no-brainer for Wall and the team as it does not make sense to risk further injury for a meaningless season.

Star point guard John Wall is 'planning to undergo season-ending surgery' to fix bone spurs in his left heel, ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Adrian Wojnarowski reported Saturday, citing league sources. After Satoransky, the team's only other true point guard is Chasson Randle, who just signed with the team a couple weeks ago after spending much of the season with their G League affiliate. The hope in Washington is that the foot specialist will be able to give the organization and Wall more answers. The 28-year-old Wall is expected to make his decision final next week as doctors have recommended he have the surgery soon and he will finalize a timetable for the procedure in the coming days, ESPN adds.

It's official: John Wall's 2018-19 season will come to an abrupt end. The surgery will fully heal the bone spurs that have nagged him for years.

The five-time all-star, who is missing Saturday night's game against Charlotte, already missed Friday's game against Chicago due to a left heel issue.
