With the Trump White House doing it all it can to keep the president afloat while buffeted by multiple investigations that could lead to impeachment, aides to the president are also creating battle plans to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg should she have to step down for health reasons.

"Justice Ginsburg is unable to be present today, but will participate in the consideration and decision of the cases on the basis of the briefs and the transcripts of oral arguments", Chief Justice John Roberts said on. "Her recovery from surgery is on track", Arberg said via statement. "Post-surgery evaluation indicates no evidence of remaining disease, and no further treatment is required", Arberg added.

Nevertheless, Politico reports that the Trump administration is quietly urging conservative groups to prepare for her departure in the near future. If Ginsburg steps down as one of the four liberal justices now serving, President Trump will nearly certainly appoint a conservative replacement, tilting the court further to the Right.

This week, she missed arguments in the Supreme Court, marking her first absence since she joined the court in 1993, reported The Associated Press. During both episodes, Ginsburg did not miss a single oral argument.

That said, I'm willing to call it now: she is invincible.

Trump tweeted his well-wishes to her in December.

Ginsburg, 85, suffered a fall in early November that resulted in three rib fractures and her hospitalization.

If she retires, President Donald Trump will likely name her successor, solidifying a conservative majority in the nation's highest court.
