Cops seek suitor who dropped engagement ring down NYC grating

After seeing the footage officers managed to rescue the ring, clean it up and now want to find its owners.

His fiancée (although we don't know if she actually said yes) puts her hands to her face when she realises what has happened.

The NYPD's Emergency Service Unit tried again in the sunlight of Saturday morning, and recovered the ring.

However in the ninth round, Wilder finally made his mark, dropping Fury with a short hook that had the fans on their feet. The incredible fight ended up being scored a draw (115-111 Wilder , 114-110 Fury, 113-113).

Police say they hope someone can help track down the couple so that they can return their engagement ring.

"Help us find the couple [whose] marriage proposal went horribly wrong after their engagement ring fell down the drain in #TimesSquare", the department's Midtown North precinct tweeted, as well as photo of the couple.

The only problem: The NYPD is still searching for the couple.
