CNN reporter LOSES White House access after FIERY Trump bust-up

Trump made the remarks during a press conference one day after the 2018 midterm elections, which saw Democrats take back the House of Representatives and Republicans hold the Senate.

A visibly angry President Donald Trump branded CNN's White House correspondent Jim Acosta a "rude, bad person" and an "enemy of the people" in a testy exchange on national television Wednesday the day after America's midterm elections.

"I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN and if you did it well, your ratings would be much better", Trump told Acosta.

With control of Congress and Trump's agenda at stake, early voting hit record levels and turnout appeared high across the country. Voter turnout in the midterms is usually much lower than in the general elections, but this year seems to be a record year.

Press secretary Sarah Sanders says the reporter's access was suspended because he put "his hands on a young woman".

During the pair's heated exchange, Acosta asked Trump about the caravan of Central American migrants who are making their way toward the USA border and challenged him about whether the caravan really was an "invasion", as Trump had previously stated.

"This president's ongoing attacks on the press have gone too far".

"That's such a racist question ..."

Then, to push this into full constitutional crisis mode, Trump asked Jeff Sessions to resign (aka fired him) as Attorney General.
