Toddler shreds more than $1,000 in cash

Jackee said their son helps shred all of their bills and other documents, so he was familiar with the shredder.

The last place you want to find a missing envelope full of money is in your shredder. They had $1,060 in an envelope ready to go, when that envelope disappeared over the weekend. "You can't say we just laughed", Jackee corrected with a smile.

After the initial shock, Ben was able to see the amusing side and shared a picture of little Leo and the pile of torn-up dreams on Twitter. "I've never heard of a kid shredding a grand", Leo's father said of the money they had been saving for a year. The couple told the station a government office which deals in mutilated cash might be able to replace the money, KTVX reports. They had withdrawn the cash to pay back a family member for the tickets and placed the money in an envelope.

"We have a lot of Leo moments", his mom explained.

Understandably Leo has been banned from the shredder. "Most of them are just amusing, and we laugh about them for days and big jokes, but this was one of those moments that wasn't his greatest, but we love him".

Following the incident, Ben chose to share the comical incident on social media and has been liked more than 1,760 times and retweeted by more than 530 people. They were then shocked to discover the envelope, which was nowhere to be found, had gone through a shredder!

After Twitter users read the tweet, they offered their sympathies and even shared their own mishaps. The couple had borrowed the money to purchase season tickets to the University of Utah's football games, KSL-TV reported.
