In its response, the IDF said its fighter jets and helicopters struck almost 100 targets in the coastal enclave, including a tunnel, advanced weapons manufacturing sites, and military facilities belonging to Islamic Jihad and to Hamas, the militant group that controls Gaza. The strikes came in response to about 30 rockets which were fired into Israel.

Israel's Iron Dome rocket-defence system reportedly intercepted 13 rockets, two of which landed in Gaza and the remainder fell in open spaces in southern Israel.

In a document handed to Egypt, Hamas representative Yahya Sinwar added that the terrorist organization expects Israel to transfer the money by next Thursday, Hadashot TV reported.
