Price was masterful in Game 5 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Sunday, continuing a dramatic October turnaround that includes wins in three straight starts, including the ALCS clincher and the Series finale, a 5-1 Red Sox victory.

The Dodgers, the National League champion and in the World Series for the second year in a row, were trying to win their seventh title and first since 1988. Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez hit solo home runs.

Pearce struck again in the eighth with another homer before pitcher Chris Sale closed off the game in the following inning.

Red Sox coach Alex Cora became the first manager from Puerto Rico to guide a team to the title and just the fifth rookie manager to win a World Series. Only the New York Yankees (27) and St. Louis Cardinals (11) have more. The Red Sox lost just once away from Fenway Park, and it took the Dodgers a record-setting 18 innings in Friday's Game 3 to prevent being swept. He then showed he was truly over what he called "the hump" with a strong six-inning outing and a win in Game 2 of the Series. Everybody knows, they talk about we have the highest payroll in baseball.

After Andrew Binitendi singled, Pearce took the first pitch he saw from Kershaw and launched into the center field bleachers for a 2-0 lead.

The alleged mass-murder was foiled after one of the girls was reported missing from class, prompting a search of the school. The girls were taken to the principal's office and a paring knife and sharpener were found on the person of one of them.

Price, who dominated on the mound and helped the Red Sox defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games, took a moment to soak everything in before answering one particular question that struck a chord.

"Prior to (removing Hill from the game), before the top of the seventh was going on, it was a long sixth for us". I got to look forward to it for the first time in a long time. The veteran lefty has had his struggles in Boston, but he was good this season, and fantastic in the World Series.

The former Gamecock, who was played on eight different Major League Baseball teams, homered three times in the series while collecting four hits and eight RBIs. He went seven innings in Game 5, yielding only one run and three hits. The 35-year-old Pearce joined the Red Sox in June.

Chris Sale said he didn't like hearing the news that he wasn't going to start Game 5. The day they signed him he said he wanted to win a World Series. "We were unable to get past that hump", Machado said. They went 22-9-1 in spring training.

Kershaw, who now has the choice to opt out of his Dodgers contract, was left with yet another postseason disappointment.

But it will be the signal he sends about market volatility and concerns around Italy , his homeland, that could be most crucial. Oil and gas producers Woodside Petroleum and Santos Ltd fell 2 per cent and 1.6 per cent, respectively.

Darvish was the starter in last year's Game 7 against the Astros and he allowed five runs in 1 2/3 innings in the Dodgers' 5-1 loss. David pitched a great game.

"I can't say enough about what Clayton - what our guys did", manager Dave Roberts said.

He got to the plate one time in Boston's sweep of the 2007 World Series, putting down a sacrifice bunt for a team led by David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Manny Ramirez.

Backed into a corner and with their bullpen worn out, the Dodgers turned to three-time Cy Young victor Clayton Kershaw, while the Red Sox countered with their Cy Young victor Price.

My problem remains the same. "We can try and we will work, but I need the cooperation of the players". The more I play the better I'll get as well.
