Trump 'Likely' To Announce New China Tariffs As Early As Monday

The tariffs come as a number of top White House advisers have been trying to de-escalate tensions between Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. -China talks would delay the duties.

The Trump administration imposed the first tariffs of $34bn on Chinese imports in July.

With $50 billion tariffs already imposed, the total amount of tariffs against China would climb to $517 billion - slightly more than U.S.'s imports from China previous year which stood at $505 billion.

China responded by imposing tariffs on USA products like beef and soybeans, a response that spooked the US agriculture industry and angered Trump and other White House officials.
