"She has already been forced out of her home and continues to be subjected to harassment, hate mail, and death threats".

She said it is reasonable for Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation vote to be delayed to allow Christine Blasey Ford to testify Wednesday or Thursday.

Approval of Kavanaugh would cement conservative control of the Supreme Court and advance a White House effort to tilt the American judiciary farther to the right. He initially gave Ford's attorneys until Friday at 10 p.m. ET to respond to a request to have Ford testify to lawmakers.

Judge Kavanaugh appeared to be on course to become a Supreme Court judge, ensuring the Republicans have a majority, but Dr Ford's allegations have disrupted the process. "We've all made clear this is her chance". I want to hear her.

Trisha Hope, of League City, Texas said of Kavanaugh: 'I think I've never seen such a spectacle in my life, to see Democrats act this way'. "It's not my normal approach" to be "indecisive", Grassley tweeted.

"Im extending the deadline for response yet again to 10o'clock this evening".

The remark infuriated many who have long argued that women are frequently overwhelmed, confused and ashamed by sexual attacks and keep silent or even bury the memory without confiding with anyone.

In his letter, Khan also said the two countries need to pay "close attention" to resolving the Siachin and Sir Creek issues. Days later, he said Islamabad and New Delhi must resort to dialogue to resolve all conflicts, including Kashmir.

The allegations have thrown Kavanaugh's confirmation into chaos at the last minute, as Republicans face increasing pressure to get him confirmed ahead of the midterm elections in November. "The host of that party added his name to this letter to the Judiciary Committee attesting to Kavanaugh's character".

He went on: "I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents".

-She does not want Kavanaugh in the room when she testifies.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a New York Democrat, said at the event: "Someone who is lying does not ask the FBI to investigate their claims".

Moderate GOP Senator Susan Collins of ME, whose vote is critical to Mr Kavanaugh's confirmation in a chamber controlled by Republicans 51-49, said Friday she was "appalled" by Mr Trump's tweet, the Portland Press Herald reported. "So I thought that the president's tweet was completely inappropriate and wrong". The president has been accused of sexual misconduct by more than a dozen women - all liars, he has said.

Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand called Friday's comments a "vile attack".

The psychology professor at Palo Alto University in California said she was being treated for what she said had been the long-term effects of the incident.

An alleged sexual assault would not have been the business of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, however.

Earlier, Grassley had rejected proposals by Ford's attorneys that only senators interrogate Ford and that she testify after Kavanaugh testifies, not before.

They have not announced if they'll honor her request to be interviewed by senators and not a special counsel.

"The reason that we know that this allegation is false is because we know Brett Kavanaugh", Fagen said.

Minutes after Trump's tweet Friday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell played verbal hardball of his own, drawing a standing ovation when he assured a gathering of evangelical activists that the conservative Kavanaugh will soon be a justice.

Perkins noted that evangelical Christian voters turned out to vote for Donald Trump in 2016 due to Trump's promise to nominate originalist judges to the Supreme Court.

Timing in the case, however, has serious implications for Kavanaugh's confirmation.

He added: "I don't want to use the pitch, especially before the match, as a possible excuse for a not very good performance". The 20-year-old's playing time has been subject to scrutiny in recent days and has clearly irked the United boss.

Blasey Ford and her attorneys, backed by Senate Democrats, have called for an FBI investigation of the matter.
