Klopp laughs off Salah's lack of goals

Defensive frailty was a major criticism of Liverpool last season, but the acquisition of Virgin van Dijk has helped steady the ship.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says the club "do not expect" Mohamed Salah to replicate his goalscoring form of last season - and joked his forward is facing "a crisis".

Liverpool have won all six games this season to make a flawless start and look a dominant force even without their talisman on top of his game.

"I have said it a few times, I knew he was a good footballer when we signed him but I could never have imagined what an outstanding person he is".

Klopp will take charge of his 600th game as a coach when Liverpool meet Southampton on Saturday.

"Yes, he [Firmino] is ready", Klopp said.
