Authorities in Kearney, Missouri are investigating a possible sighting of Mollie Tibbetts, a missing college student from Iowa. She said that it's the family's greatest hope that whoever may have Tibbetts lets her go and claims the "money we have raised for her freedom".

"That tipster then will have to. contact us back if a crime has been solved", he said.

As of 10 a.m. Thursday, $172,000 had been raised, Calderwood said. "This is a fight for our daughter", he added.

The family also praised law enforcement efforts as well as national and worldwide media coverage that has kept Tibbetts' disappearance in the public consciousness.

She announced an A$233,000 reward for her return.

Investigators, with the help of Federal Bureau of Investigation forensic experts, were tracking Tibbetts' digital footprint.

"Tibbetts is 5'2" and approximately 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing dark-colored running shorts, a pink sports top and running shoes of an unknown color.
