On Friday, as excerpts from Manigault Newman's book emerged, the White House decried the author and the media for offering her their attention.

This recording between Omarosa and the President reportedly took place the day after she was sacked by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. "I just, I've never talked, had a chance to talk to you General Kelly so if this is my departure, I'd like to have at least an opportunity to understand". She claimed the recording was made when Kelly took her into the Situation Room, a specially secure room where the president and his top aides address major national security crises, and where personal cell phones are not allowed.

Manigault Newman's book is out Tuesday.

Giuliani told Fox News' "Fox & Friends": "What kind of ingratitude is this?"

Manigault Newman's book, Unhinged, characterises the USA president as a bigot, sexist and racist who she claims has been caught on mic using the N-word multiple times.

A ideal example was the vintage putter raise as a birdie on No. 13 fell into the hole to bring him within one stroke of the lead. He also goes with the news that he is now 77th in the world rankings, also a career-best.

Some security experts are concerned the recordings could have compromised national security. "If she broke federal law, she should be prosecuted", McDaniel tweeted. She even secretly recorded some conversations she had with the president himself.

When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems.

"As we heard on the recording you just played, he doesn't even know what's happening in the White House", Manigault Newman said.

Manigault Newman said that she taped conversations with Kelly and others to protect herself, but her accusations may backfire. People in the White House hated her. "You can lose your security clearance for bringing your device into SCIF - to bring it in is a violation but to willfully record it - you're entering a whole other realm". "Not only is it not typical, something like this is unprecedented".

"There are some serious legal issues that have been violated and you're open to some legal action that we hope, we think, we can control", he says at one point.

Conway referred to the NPR interview as she talked about Omarosa's credibility, which the latter has since tried to clear up herself.

In the book, Manigault Newman, who was a contestant on Mr Trump's The Apprentice reality show and later served as a senior adviser to the president, hurls a litany of allegations, painting the president as scattered, self-absorbed, misogynistic and insecure.

Manigault Newman had said in the book that she had not personally heard the recording.

"They take me into the Situation Room, the doors are locked, they tell me I can't leave and they start to threaten me, put fear in me, to put me under duress", she said.

The White House described her as a "disgruntled" former employee.
