Barr made headlines after she tweeted in May that Jarrett, who is African-American and was born in Iran, was as though the "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby".

Despite this, Roseanne has insisted she's entitled to her own opinions and that the racism storm hasn't led her to reevaluate her political position.

During her conversation with Sean Hannity, the comedienne reasserted her view that her tweet was about politics, not race. He said, "This is an opportunity in many ways for her". "That's what was in my head".

Roseanne has repeatedly apologized, and this time she looked into the camera and apologized directly to Jarrett, not so much for the tweet, but for what she perceives to be a misunderstanding. And, you know, I'm sorry that you feel harmed and hurt. "It's hard for me to come back - it's not even about forgiveness for me - I don't want her to be associated with the Republican party in any way".

"I've apologized a lot, it's been two months", Barr said. "It cost me my life's work".

Three-quarters of Republicans trust Trump over the media
Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain (Republican-Arizona) has called Putin a "tyrant" and "America's enemy". The Kremlin's failure to swiftly accept Mr Trump's invitation for a Washington summit has been noticeable.

"I am a creative genius, and this is not a good feeling for an artist to be treated this way, and it's not a good feeling for a citizen, either", she said.

Hannity was quick to point out that Barr was joking.

"Of course I'd tell her, she's got to get a new haircut", she added.

In one part of the interview, the comic insisted she didn't want to hurt anyone or cause anyone pain.

She expressed interest in talking to Jarrett, or perhaps working out a way to find a "teachable moment" in an encounter with her. They cancelled it within 40 minutes.I think they had been thinking, "Christ she's a pain in the ass woman,"' she said. "But I was allowed under my contract to have 24 hours to correct any mistake".

The comedian said she was "shocked" that "everybody started saying I was racist, which is like the worst thing you can call a Jewish person, especially one like me that worked with Holocaust survivors".

During the hour-long interview, Hannity tried to keep his guest on course.
