Elon Musk on Friday said he is deploying engineers to help the Thailand soccer team that was found trapped in a water-filled cave, BuzzFeed News reports.

Earlier this week, Musk offered engineers from two of his other companies - SpaceX and The Boring Company - to assist the Thai government.

Military personnel are seen in front of the Tham Luang cave - where 12 boys and their soccer coach are trapped - in the northern province of Chiang Rai, Thailand, July 6, 2018.

And as concern is mounting, a beacon of hope shone through for the group as billionaire Elon Musk took to Twitter to say he was "happy to help" the Thai government in its rescue effort.

Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani has left calf injury
In contrast, Uruguay march on with arguably the best defence in worldwide football and one of the best strike pairings anywhere. Cavani then had to be helped off by Ronaldo before watching the rest of the game from the dugout with ice on a calf injury.

The development comes as the frantic rescue effort has turned deadly. But the mission has been turned into a race against time as oxygen levels fall and heavy rain is due this weekend.

On Twitter, Musk has mused about potential inventions that could help the trapped soccer team, including a miniature submarine made from part of a SpaceX rocket.

The tubes and pods are being built in the USA, a spokesman said.

According to the publication, Musk may offer Tesla's Powerwall home batteries or technology from SpaceX or The Boring Company to help locate and rescue the team, though Thai officials have not announced whether they will use Musk's resources.

LeBron's first Lakers game against Warriors will be in San Jose
In other words, it's more like James came alone ... knowing the Lakers are in prime position to get another major star in a year. That means we could quickly learn where LeBron James will play next season, as well as the fate of others on the open market.

Only professional divers have been able to get to them so far, and one ex-navy diver died after delivering supplies to the boys.

Most of the boys do not know how to swim, never mind dive in such a complex environment.

Musk was sure to share his admiration for the fearless kids trapped in the cave and the team of divers that's been working to rescue them and provide them with oxygen over the past few days. But while that does give Musk and his team a bit more time to finalize the rescue submarine and quickly bring it to Thailand, time and the weather are not on anyone's side at the moment.

An air line has been installed to the cave where the group has been trapped for almost two weeks in a chamber in the Tham Luang cave complex.
