Democratic Senators Issue Last-Minute Warnings About Trump's Supreme Court Pick

The Village Voice recently put out a report discussing the probable incoming issues involving women's health and women's rights should Roe v. Wade be overturned by a Supreme Court decision.

She called Justice Gorsuch, for example, "an ideological mercenary", who proved his critics right.

He said Trump wants to take the nation back 45 years to the early 1970s, before Roe v. Wade was decided. Collins would agree that those were very good reversals.

Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has urged Republican state lawmakers to reconsider their opposition to legislation codifying abortion rights in NY state law. It's also one of 20 states where an end to Roe would start a chain of events likely to restrict abortion rights; some states have "trigger laws" that would make abortion immediately illegal, while some have passed abortion limitations that are blocked by Roe. One of these will have to get to the Supreme Court to enable a majority to overturn Roe. It is resurrected now because Trump's choice to replace Kennedy could conceivably tilt the court dramatically to the right, and progressives are making the prospect of overturning Roe v. Wade their rallying cry to oppose Trump's pick.

Kramaric Starts as Croatia Opt for All Out Attack Against Russia
And Croatia is on the side of the bracket where playing in the final seems entirely possible if it can beat the Russians. The duel had ended 1-1 after regular time and 2-2 after extra time before Croatia won the penalty shootout 4-3.

But those with absolutist views are in the minority: Just 25 percent said abortion should be legal in all cases and 16 percent said it should be illegal in all cases.

As of now, four states - Louisiana, Mississippi and North and South Dakota - have what are known as abortion "trigger laws".

Without Roe, he said, the people of every state could decide how tolerant or not they want to be when it comes to abortion.

Kavanaugh was previously appointed by Republican President George W. Bush to the D.C. Circuit Court and has voted against abortion rights in the past, notably in 2017 when he voted against an immigrant teen being allowed to terminate her own pregnancy. "Roe v. Wade is the untold story of how people lied, how the media lied, and how the courts were manipulated to pass a law that has since killed over 60 Million Americans", reads a funding appeal for the movie.

Beryl weakens to Tropical Storm
The storm had been moving at 14 mph for most of Saturday, and tropical storm winds extend outward about 45 miles from its center . A west- northwestward motion with some increase in forward speed is expected during the next few days.

"I had an abortion at 19, after rape, and I wouldn't want my daughter, God forbid anything like that happened to her, I wouldn't want her at 19 to be in a position where she didn't have access to safe and legal abortions", said Long. It's about what the Supreme Court in Planned Parenthood v. Casey explained is the "promise of the Constitution that there is a realm of personal liberty which the government may not enter".

All this means the outcome of a confirmation vote is uncertain.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) attends a lunch meeting for Republican lawmakers in the Cabinet Room at the White House June 26, 2018 in Washington, DC.

But if the fight over abortion now polarizes Supreme Court nomination fights, both liberals and conservatives need to remember that there may be less at stake in the fight than they think.
