Neymar scored his sixth FIFA World Cup™ goal, before substitute Roberto Firmino added one late on, to lift Brazil past Mexico 2-0 to advance into the quarter-finals at Russian Federation 2018.

Brazil maintained the pressure in the second half as Ochoa parried away Coutinho's shot.

With Neymar on the deck, Mexico's Miguel Layun went to collect the ball from between his legs, stepping on his ankle in the process but prompting the Brazil forward to dramatically flop around in a wholly disproportionate response.

"Come on young man you're better than that, get on with the game".

EU Summit On Refugees
In recent weeks, vessels with rescued migrants and refugees on board have been left stranded in the Mediterranean after they were barred from docking.

Are Brazil improving as the tournament progresses? . This was similar to the performances against Costa Rica and Serbia last week when they did just about enough to win. They behave like a unit. And they have a strong bench to call upon if plan A does not work.

Brazil upped the ante, by the 20th minute, but Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa kept Brazil at bay, as he had done four years ago.

Otherwise Brazil are unchanged, Manchester City striker Gabriel leading their attack in front of Willian, Philippe Coutinho and Neymar. Subs: Fernandinho n/a, Firmino n/a, Marquinhos n/a. Brilliant from Neymar, beating two defenders and getting in a shot from a tight angle which the keeper does well to save off his line with his left hand.

Brazil will be favorites to advance, but Mexico have already shocked the world once this tournament and should not be counted out. Willian flashes the ball across the goal and Neymar is there to slide it in from close range.

Durant is cutting the Warriors another financial break
A person familiar with the terms says Gay has agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal to be back in silver and black next season. Warriors general manager Bob Myers told reporters in mid-June he would offer Durant whatever contract he wanted.

Neymar powered through and his low effort was diverted into the path of Firmino, who had the simple task of tapping into an empty net.

However, Brazil did manage to double their score late on when Neymar broke the offside trap, before squaring for Firmino to tap home from two yards out.

That should not overshadow his generally positive display however, as the five-times champions beat an otherwise stubborn Mexico, whose World Cup began with such promise with a victory over champions Germany, but ended in familiar fashion in the first knockout round.
