Eagles coach Doug Pederson said he was looking forward to going to the White House to be recognized as Super Bowl champions but he wouldn't further discuss a visit that was canceled by President Donald Trump.

The first lady addressed the issue on Twitter last week, saying: "I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing".

That was his message on Wednesday to a voracious press as he steadfastly declined to entertain questions about President Donald Trump's cancellation of his team's visit to the White House after the team tried to pull a fast one on the chief executive. "So we just have to continue to stay on topic and continue to push the issues - and not this narrative of who's right and who's wrong, but what are the reasons why players are even so passionate about this".

Asked about the feud on Wednesday, the Eagles tried to move on.

Trump claims the Eagles disagreed with his position on standing for the National Anthem before the game, but during the 2017 regular season and playoffs, Eagles players always stood during The Star-Spangled Banner.

The Eagles held an OTA practice on Tuesday instead of visiting the White House. He has also has criticized the NFL's new policy, which prohibits players from kneeling/sitting on the field during the anthem.
