VAR not an excuse for Brazil draw, says Marcelo

The Brazilian Football Confederation has written to FIFA, demanding explanations about the procedures used for video review, during their 1-1 draw with Switzerland at the 2018 World Cup.

The nation's fans must have certainly been proud of their team's performance against the five-time champions and one of them was none other than tennis legend Roger Federer, who expressed his delight at his national side's display.

"I do have a lot of time for Bobby Firmino, I think he's excellent".

Captain Marcelo was the only starter in Brazil's line-up that also featured in the first eleven in his country's embarrassing 7-1 loss to Germany in the 2014 World Cup semi-finals.

It wasn't particularly surprising that Tite admitted on Saturday that Neymar wasn't 100 percent fit for the opening game of this World Cup. However, Brazil paid for their failure to kill the game off when Steven Zuber powered home an equaliser from Xherdan Shaqiri's corner five minutes after the break.

Brazil hasn't lost its opening match in the World Cup since falling 3-1 to Spain in 1934.

"But of course I'm not happy with the result and of course I wanted to win tonight".
