Ryan Gosling Is Neil Armstrong in 'First Man' Trailer & Poster

That's the pitch for Ryan Gosling's latest cinematic adventure as the versatile actor steps into the especially famous shoes of Neil Armstrong; the first man to walk on the surface of the moon.

As noted by NME, the trailer first appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", where Gosling and Kimmel wore spacesuits for the "first-ever interview in space".

The film will reportedly focus on Armstrong's life from 1961-1969.

Following the first poster drop earlier today, Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for First Man.

The name, according to Porsche , is of "Eurasian" origin and can be roughly translated as " lively young horse ". Porsche says a four minute charge will be good enough to deliver approximately 100 km (62 miles) of range.

The trailer onslaught continues right up until the end of the weel, closing things out with the first look at Damien Chazelle and Ryan Gosling's reteam after La La Land, the Neil Armstrong biopic First Man. Chazelle explains: "we wanted to tell the story about one of the most epic accomplishments in human history, but root it very much in the intimate and the day to day details of what it was actually like". Mowgli, Aviron's Serenity and Annapurna's Where'd You Go, Bernadette? In a heartbreaking scene, his son asks Armstrong if he will be coming back, to which he replies that there were risks, but that they have every intention of returning. Also starring Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as Buzz Aldrin and Claire Foy (The Queen), as Armstrong's first wife Janet Shearon, the film will be released on October 12.

First Man is an adaptation of James Hansen's 2005 biography, First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong.
