Protests, facility visits planned this weekend amid immigration confusion

An attorney in Texas has been trying to reunite parents at an immigration detention facility with their children after US authorities separated them on the southwest border. Doing so has been derisively called granting "amnesty" to those who entered the country illegally. "We need consistency and compassion out of this administration", she said. That would be a sharp increase from the 2,500 beds available for families in the last fiscal year. This comes as a result of the White House's "zero tolerance" policy toward illegal border crossings.
