Trump Attorney Giuliani Brands Stormy Daniels' Lawyer a 'Pimp'

That's the money line from an internal memo sent around by AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson as the telecom giant has gotten pulled into the legal saga of Michael Cohen after it was revealed the company paid Cohen $600,000 previous year for "insights and understanding the new administration".

"Our company has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.and our reputation has been damaged", the memo said.

Giuliani told CBS News he was making the point that the administration's opposition to the merger shows Mr. Trump was not at all swayed by money his longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, received from the company.

The AT&T-Time Warner deal, a so-called "vertical merger" among companies that do not compete, is the kind that has historically enjoyed typical regulatory approval.

Essential Consultants paid US$130,000 to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, days before the 2016 presidential election as part of a nondisclosure agreement that barred her from discussing an alleged sexual encounter with Trump.

Cohen's deals with AT&T and other corporate clients were first revealed this week by an attorney for adult film actress Stormy Daniels, but the new documents obtained by The Post offered greater detail about his arrangement with the telecom company and the type of work he had been hired to perform. But Cohen's hiring has proven to be an embarrassment for AT&T.

The Justice Department is seeking to block AT&T's $85 billion purchase of Time Warner on the grounds that it would stifle competition. But he, and the rest of the company, was surprised by the election results and had few connections to Trump's circles.

Meanwhile, his main challenger, Mahathir quit his old party and gave the opposition a boost when he forged an alliance with them. On Wednesday morning, long queues were seen in many polling centers, which led some people to call for voting time extension.

The company said it was contacted by investigators with special counsel Robert Mueller and provided "all information requested in November and December of 2017". AT&T said it had "cooperated fully" with the inquiries.

Wyden, a Democrat from OR, noted in a letter to Narasimhan that at the time Novartis was paying Cohen, it was seeking approval and negotiating a payment deal with the USA government for a cancer drug called Kymriah that has a list price of $475,000.

Leon is expected to deliver an opinion on the case by June 12.
