Man arrested after woman slips note pleading to be rescued, cops say

A woman escaped Friday from her violent, gun-wielding boyfriend, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they arrested Floyd on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and simple battery.

Deputies say Reichle's boyfriend, Jeremy Floyd, beat her Wednesday, threatened her with a gun and kept her locked in their home for two days. She says Floyd would not let her leave, and when the two wrestled over a gun, two shots were fired.

He was armed with his handgun, and the victim said Floyd threatened to kill her and her family, deputies said.

When they arrived at DeLand Animal Hospital, the 28-year-old Reichle covertly slipped a handwritten note to a worker.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Laura Williams identified the man as Jeremy Floyd, 39.

Justice Donald Greenwood told the son his bid to remain in his parents' home another six months was "outrageous". He ignored all of them, so the couple went through Camillus Town Court in April to begin the eviction process.

The victim was treated at Florida Hospital DeLand for various injuries, including head trauma, bruises and a black eye.

Volusia sheriffs responded to the couple's home, where the domestic violence incidents occurred.

He is being held in the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bail.
