ABC cancels 'Roseanne' following Roseanne Barr's racist Twitter rant

Barr took to Twitter overnight to apologize again and say that she sent out her racist tweet after taking a sedative.

Barr also blamed her offending tweet on a popular sleeping pill.

'I condemn these statements vehemently, ' wrote Fishman, who is the father of a black daughter in the reboot.

Several minutes prior to the post, she shared a similar sentiment regarding her desire for fans not to stick up for her, despite the fact that she appreciates their efforts.

Barr said that she would leave Twitter as a result of the backlash she faced. "It's all ok", she wrote. It just shocked me a bit, but I indeed f***ed up'.

Barr apologized for the racist comment and announced she was leaving Twitter, but she later returned with a new string of apologies and defenses, including blaming Ambien.

"I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me", Barr wrote.

The White House on Tuesday suggested that Trump would refrain from commenting on the cancellation of Roseanne's show, as he was purportedly busy preparing for the North Korea summit that may happen next month.

Another of Barr's deleted tweets saw the disgraced sitcom star proclaim "I'm sorry 4 my tweet, AND I will also defend myself as well as talk to my followers.so, go away if u don't like it". "He said he had zero tolerance. and I appreciate that", she said. Roseanne also apologized for the tweet and urged her fans not to boycott ABC, since they had the right to fire her.

Barr's agency, ICM Partners, said in a statement Tuesday that Barr's tweet was "disgraceful", "unacceptable" and "antithetical to our core values".
