In a recent interview with ET Canada, Spock depicter Zachary Quinto shared that the studio is developing at least more than one "Star Trek" movie.

Nigeria 'unlikely to eliminate' malaria by 2030
In Nigeria it is estimated that more than 1.5 million cases of malaria are recorded each year with over 300,000 deaths per year. According to the 2017 world malaria report, there were 216 million cases of malaria in 2016, up from 211 million cases in 2015.

J.J. Abrams, who has overseen the reboot Star Trek, as it pertains to feature films, also appeared by video to hype the Bad Robot horror film Overlord and announce the next film in the Cloverfield franchise.

This is certainly exciting news for the millions of fans and it remains to be seen what is in store for the franchise with the projects announced to be made. As of now, though, there are only two specific Trek films in development, and it looks like S.J. Clarkson's Star Trek 4 will be hitting theaters first. This will make Clarkson the first female director to helm a Star Trek movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter's account of the event "Gianopulos also teased the studio was developing more in the Star Trek universe with studio partner Skydance". Sources now say the film is being written and would not debut until after Star Trek 4. J.J. Abrams confirmed the story back in 2016, saying it would involve sort sort of time travel element and reunite long-lost father and son. Clarkson has a background in television, having helmed episodes of The Defenders, Vinyl, Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black, Bates Motel and more.

Of course, the franchise could boldly go in another direction too - a movie with the CBS All-Access Cast could happen.

Meanwhile, the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek is still in development as well.
